Independence Day also known as the fourth of July has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, commemorating the declaration of independence. On July 2, 1776, the congress voted in favor of the independence, which was drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to barbeques and many social gatherings. It is a day to celebrate our freedom and to share with family and friends!
